Replacement bath waste options

Hi all,

I had a leak from an existing bath which was clearly bodged on install and wanted some advise on the best options to replace.

Coming out from the bath drain is a 32mm connection which then needs to end up into a swept 50mm waste pipe.

I'm thinking maybe a normal bath waste then a double ended flexi pipe?

Don't use flexi pipes, they block up. Dig all that gunk out of the 50mm Y and see if it's possible to clean it up back to the original fitting. If it is, you can glue a reducer in there and then use some fittings to get it to where you need it

Thanks for the reply. Due to the angle of the 50mm y I don't see how I'd be able to get the correct angle with rigid?

A 45° bend should do it

If all else fails, cut the Y out, and fit new, with Tee in appropriate position to pick up the bath waste. Bath waste will be 40mm, reducing down to 32mm, (then back up again), is another chance of an issue at a later date.

Yup +1. I'd also be tempted to cut that out and make a new connection into the 50mm with a new Tee and a 40mm reducer in it. Then a 50mm seal 1 1/2" bath waste (McAlpine) and a small length of 40mm into a 45 deg then into the Tee.
