From searching around I see this a common question so I appreciate peoples patience in this regard.

I'm about to replace my built in single oven and hob and want to check existing wiring is still suitable. My current oven load rating is 2.4kW and the hob 5.7kW, the new oven will be 2.7kW and hob 6.7kW. The oven and hob are hardwired into a 30A junction box which is wired into a 45A cooker control unit. The wires are 6mm twin and earth I believe (2x6+2.5). It is also on its own circuit with a 32A fuse at the consumer unit.

I have never had an issue with the hob and oven tripping out despite times where pretty much everything is on so I hope this setup is suitable/safe as knowing my landlord as i do and seeing some of the 'tradesmen' he uses I kind of want to garner as much information for myself regarding its suitability.

I hope there is enough info in there for someone to 'yay or nay' it and any help advice is much appreciated.

The cable size, loading, MCB rating and isolator rating, seem fine by the evidence you have provided.
I assume the junction box is 30A rated one, ideally this box should be fixed securely as should cable to reduce stress to terminals.

Thanks for the quick replies and you confirmed what I thought would be the case but it never hurts to check. It is a 30A junction box and i will get it fixed to the wall asap.

Cheers guys
