I'm looking for a replacement C/H and H/W timed controller for our Gloworm Mastermind which broke at the weekend. (timing dial does not spin anymore). H/w and c/h still work if constant mode is used.

Ideally I'd like something that can be replaced without any additional wiring so we could directly remove and replace. If I'm lucky enough to have a choice then 5/2day digital programmer would be nice.

I'm not sure what info you need to help so I'll tell you what I can about the c/h. Hot water tank. The Boiler (non condensing) replaced about 2 years ago. (does that help?).

If such a programmer/timer is availble is this suitable for self replacement, or should this only be done by qualified professional. I'm OK with plumbing and electrical work but amateur basis only.

many thanks in advance.

The Siemens RWB29 or RWB2E are direct replacements, using the same backplate.

Many Drayton, e.g LP522, use the same backplate and are interchangeable.

Many thanks for the fast response - greatly appreciated.

The RWB29 looks good.

Just out of interest - I notice there are still mechanical programmers available, is there any difference in reliability between mechanical / digital programmers, or any reason other than personal preference for one over the other?

thanks,
Mark

Do you still use log tables and a slide rule; or do you have a calculator? ;)

I prefer the digital one myself, but slide rules do still work without batteries

:)

Thanks again for the advice.
