Replacement cistern outlet valve query

Quite a lot of years back I replaced the syphon type mechanism with the US style flapper valve from Screwfix. I believe these are now banned in the UK due to their proneness to leaking - and yes, mine has got to that stage.

I'm seeing that I can get a Fluidmaster "cable dual flush valve" from Screwfix. My question is this - is the pushbutton a one-for-one exchange with the existing lever? The toilet is about 25years old.
