My trusty fluke t5 meter has now decided to stop indicating anything on its display, one day it was fine then the next some segments went then today nothing. Have traced it to the display being faulty as sometimes works if you press on it. Has anyone got any ideas where you could obtain a replacement from? tried ebay no joy , flukes website shows no screen as a spare part so just wondering if anyone has any ideas.

Since you're obviously prepared to open it up, I'd do that and check the contacts first, may be something loose or dirty, which a cotton bud and some surgical spirit might fix.

Otherwise - why not phone Fluke?

IIRC, the screen isn't actually soldered on.

It just has a row of rubbery type contacts which make contact with the PCB, so I'd try as BS3036 suggests.

I have a set of T5-1000, and if yours are anything like mine they take a fair old bit of abuse day to day.

How long have you had them OOI?

I've had mine for about 7 years and they are still going. God knows how many times they have saved my life. Worth every penny :)

Thanks for the replies guys, i have had them about 2 years, i have taken it apart and the screen just plugs into a contact block on the main pcb , I tried to do a few checks with the back off, but cant really do it easily as the battery contacts come off when you remove the back . I will try cleaning the contacts first and see if it gets anywhere.
