Hi all,

I'm replacing 2 sealed units which have blown, I notice there is some single sided adhesive foam type tape on the rebate which has seen better days, does anyone know what tape this is, the only stuff I can find is double sided which I don't think is correct for a conventional modern upvc window. I think that is for the old style front beaded upvc windows.

Why don't you think it's correct, double sided foam tape or security tape is double sided so the glass can't be removed if like in your case is externally beaded, I assume you mean externally glazed when you say front beaded?

Because the current tape in there definitely is not double sided.

When I say front beaded, I meant the beading was on the exterior side, hence double sided tape to stop people just popping the beads and removing the glazed unit.

My beading is internal, hence my question.

A picture would help, internally glazed windows don't generally use foam tape because it's not waterproof

I meant a picture so I could see it not a drawing but its probably a single sided self adhesive neoprene foam tape.
