I currently have Aurora downlights that are starting to flicker which I believe the transformer is on the way out, they are coming up for 16 years old.
I want to replace them with new led downlights but looking online there appears to be very few that have a plasterboard opening of 70mm.
Is the electrician able to cut out a larger hole easily? With the drill bit not having any board to centre on?
Any recommendations for brands? I have some led Aurora downlights that were fitted at a later date so maybe go with them again.
I feel the main issue is the plaster cut out size.

You can put two sizes in hole saws so anyone could fit a 70mm as a pilot and whatever size your new lights would be if the Collingwood weren't available or suitable.

skip to 1.50 the other method is to use a bit of cut 70mm circular wood.

That’s good to know as it didn’t know it was possible to cut a larger size without it being a complete faff.
