Hi

After a water leak the insurance comapny have instructed a contractor to lay engineered Oak flooring in the hallway.

We thought it would be nice to continue this through into the dining room so we asked the flooring contractor for a quote. Bearing in mind that the dining room is 10m2 i was shocked when they quoted £706 for the job!

Is this quote very expensive or am i just underestimating the cost of the job??

I have seen similar engineered Oak planks for around £30 m2 and say £30 for underlay that would make fitiing costs of £37 m2!

Can anyone let me know what they think about this quote.

Thanks
Darren

p.s I will be doing the dining room myself when they have gone!!
