Could anyone point me in the right direction to a suitable replacement for the silavent EXT301 extractor fan please?

Originally it wasn't working, only humming until I removed the cover and cleaned off all the caked on dust. However the performance doesn't seem great and was looking to replace with a newer/ higher performance model.

It doesn't look like silavent are still in business, would an alternative brand be an easy swap?

Any 100mm / 4" wall mount fan will fit. That one has a timer, so any replacement should also have a timer rather than one without.

How long is the duct from the fan to the outside?

It goes straight straight through the ceiling, into the attic, then through the roof. I haven't measured it, but I'd say no more than a metre?

This is the equivalent of what you have: https://www.screwfix.com/p/manrose-...oom-extractor-fan-with-timer-white-240v/15927

More powerful centrifugal versions are available such as https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/BGCF100T.html however they are a lot larger and will make a lot more noise.

The other option for more power and less noise is one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/VENTS-UK-Ventilation-Extractor-Ventilator/dp/B0831DXDD4/
mounted in the loft. You will also need some extra ducting and a grille to fit into the ceiling.
