I had a Mira PPT3 for about 7 years and it worked fine until I found a damp patch on the hallway ceiling below the bathroom.
Water p***ing out of the bottom of the hot water side of the pump.
Cause, shaft seal gone hard and stopped sealing.
These seals are not available as spares (and never have been) and there is no after market replacement or bodgy diy fix (GRRRR!!!).
So, grudgingly and through gritted teeth had to get a new pump.
After much searching and forum reading, the recommended replacement is a Stuart Turner Pumps Monsoon 1.5 Bar Twin pump.
Talking with the nice man at Stuart Turner, they actually manufactured the PPT3 for Mira.
The Monsoon pump is much better as it has brass pump bodies and all the seals are available as after market spares through stockists.
You'll have to do a bit of plumbing as the Monsoon uses 22mm pushfit connectors and it needs 80mm of air round it as it is rated continuous compared to 3min intermittant with the PPT3.
Also, after it settles in (initially a bit noisy due to cavitation and bedding in) it is almost silent in operation. Flow rate is a bit more at the shower head.
Do make sure you static fill it before turning it on.
Online stockists seem to have this at reasonable prices.
