My CH motarised valve has died.

After much effort I have undone the top and bottom nut but cannot seem to move the valve itself out as there appears to be little movement in the pipes top and bottom.

Presumably I will have to lift or drop one of the pipes a little to be able to get past the olive/end of pipe. Any suggestions other than sheer brute force which I am afraid may cause leaks elsewhere?

(BTW the system is drained and the leccy is off)

Cut off a small section of pipe and use a slip coupling if you have room. They are available in solder and compression

If it's a Honeywell being replaced with a Honeywell of same model, you can remove the actuator head and the ball plate underneath and leave the brass valve body in place. Then fit new head and ball plate to original body. Make sure that when old ball plate is removed, you clean out any crud and debris inside the body before fitting the new parts to it.

It may be possible on other brand valves when swapping like for like, but can't confirm this as I've only done the above with Honeywells.

It is a Honeywell but sadly it is the oldtype so it is a no go with just changing the head.
