Trying to locate a source for these screws, the existing ones are about 2.87mm diameter and 30mm long, but I would prefer the longest ones available, for cutting to suit.
What style of socket is it and which screws do you need?
Basic flush mounted sockets use normal M3.5 socket screws but afaict BT rarely used such sockets.
I'm not sure what size screws were used in the small surface mount sockets that BT used before the NTE5 came in. They look about M3 to me but i'm not positive on that.
With a NTE5 the screws used to attatch the back peice of the NTE5 to the backbox are M3.5 as with normal sockets. The screws that hold the front and back peices together were originally M3 but were replaced with self tappers on later versions of the NTE5 to reduce costs. clarity sell some long M3 screws for people who want to fit a filter faceplace to an older model NTE5.
Yes, the sockets used standard 3.5mm socket screws (but smaller head on the old small sockets), but as Lectrician says, the cheapskate b'stards now use self tappers.
If you have an existing socket and are getting Openreach to install a socket - make sure you have your own proper screws so they don't f**k the backbox with the self tappers.
