HELP!!

I am replacing a switch that operates a ceiling light and wall lights. The current set up is

All wire are RED

top

ACOM AND B1WAY ARE LOOPED B2WAY IS FREE

BOTTOM

RED IN COMB AND A1WAY

This setup the lights work fine

A new crabtree 2 way 2gang swich has nothing excep L1 L2 & L3

Have tried many ways to connect but the lights either stay on permanently or they dont work .

Any ideas how this new switch should be connected?

Many Thanks and very appreciated

acom and b1 way into L1
the others into L2 with the L3 empty

chances are you got in a pickle now with your cores though, you may need to bell it out

Hi, this is how the lights should work

Ceiling (bottom can be switched on/off)
Wall (top, can be switched on/off)

However with the suggested setup

Ceiling Lights works fine with all into L2 (bottom)
Wall lights do not work when all into L1 (top )

:)

dont get the ceiling wall sentences,is it an architrave switch?
nothing wrong with my suggested setup either.
find permanent lives and put one each into each L1 terminals and fit the loop.
one of each of the remaining wires into L2 terminals.
if you feel competant to do so,try testing with a multimeter to find the first permanent feed.then join on your wires one at a time(with a connector)
at least then you will know what your switchlines are and which is your outgoing live.
