Dear all

I am replacing 2 light switches on 2 way circuit with new ones I have bought.

The new switches are arranged differently to the old ones with 3 places for the wires labelled:
L2
COM
L1

Can anyone please tell me which wire goes where.

Thanks in advance.

The old one does not have any markings that I can see.

It has three connections in a triangle shape:

RED wire

Blue & Brown wires Red & Yellow wires

if it is an isosolese triangle,

common is on its own
L1 and L2 are at the opposite end.

So the red wire goes in common

Which goes in L1- the blue & brown wire or red and yellow?

Thanks

preferably the same as in the old switch.

if you dont know what was L1 or L2 just make sure all the wires that were in one terminal go to one terminal of the new one. L1 or L2.

As it is two way L1 and L2 wrong way round will just mean switching is upside down, which dont really matter.

The ones in the end of the triangle must go in common though

Do one switch and check ok before starting the second switch.

Do a drawing of the old and colours , so you can revert back if it goes wrong
