First of all can i say Hi, (i'm new you see  )...I'm thinking of replacing my 16 yr old 242 e...with another vaillant...I have read that the ecotec plus range are a better bet than the pro range (unless you guys tell me different)....I live in a 3 bed Victorian terraced house.....Which boiler would be a good replacement ?......Bill

I get it serviced by British Gas every year, and they keep telling me i could save approx £150 a year on gas based on my usage , also they tell me that they are only offering a reduced list of available parts in the event of a breakdown...the boiler itself has had the heat exchanger replaced, and the diaphragm in the servo valve , but works perfectly although i think i could do with more hot water flow rate...I thought it might just be time for a change, unless you apply the IF IT AINT BUST DON'T REPLACE IT rule.....Bill

fair enough

i wouldn't trust anything BG tell you mind

all the parts are still available

and the supposed savings are just that supposed

personally i would leave it alone if its ok

keep your money in the bank till you need it fella

Thanks for that very sound advice. I took a step back and you are right....I'll keep my money till such time that i NEED to replace it.

I have another question relating to vaillant, but i'll start another thread....Many Thanks.......Bill
