Hi, I have just bought a 2 gang 2 way push dimmer switch from Wickes but have a problem with it doing what it should do (as with the old one also - we have just moved in to the house).
It has 2 seperates sections, each with an L! and an L2 connection plus a third which I can only describe as 2 wavy lines crossing each other. The 2 sets of wires are each red, blue and yellow.
Can anybody help please. Thanks

I'm afraid we will need a bit more information...

If you treat each dimmer as a seperate switch,,, on you existing one what colour wires go where???

How are the other switches which it is connected to wired? I take it the other switches are normal on/off switches?

Depends how the other switches are wired.

Normally if you look at the other switch there will be a terminal marked COM (usually) with one wire in it. Whatever color that is, at the dimmer switch end of the cable put it into the terminal with the wiggly lines. Then put the other 2 wires in L1 and L2, either way round doesn't matter.

If not describe or post a picture of the back of the other switches.
