your existing switch is 2 blocks of 3 also, it's just that one block is upside down to the others giving you 3 one side and 3 the other...

are there no markings on the existing switch?

[code:1]
L1 COM ---- switch 1
------------
L2 | L1
------
COM L2 ---- switch 2

[/code:1]

from the sound of it you have a twin red cable coming in, this is one switch wire and will go to one switch with one red in COM and the other in L1

the other cable is a 3core and earth, red to COM, yellow to L1 and blue to L2
