Hello all,

I just tried to change a socket in my kitchen (just moved in). The existing 2G was fitted upside down, because the ring wires in to the box are simply too short to fit it the right way up. The new socket I want to fit simply cannot be fitted because of these really short wires.

How do I go about rectifying the problem? I tried puling the ring wires, but no slack - they are in the wall of course. Can I put in a conection block to extend by the few cm's needed? I dont think there will be enough room in the cage for that. Bit stuck, any thoughts?

if they're too short to get into the socket back then I doubt there will be enough room to get the crimp tool in..

terminal block them to each other and blank it off..

Someone should invent a crimping tool with the yellow crimp die at the end.
