Hi all,

I need to replace a blown neon in a fcu.
My question is, does the wire with the resistor go to the positive or
negative terminal or doesn't it matter which way round it goes?
Thanks.

It will work either way.

That said connecting the resistor the the Live would be preferable because should the glass of the neon ever break and expose the leads to be touched then the resistor would limit current into the person's finger and prevent serious electric shock.

There is no positive or negative with AC. As Bernard says connect the resistor to the live. How was the old one connected?

Hi,

I removed the old one but forgot to take any picture of the wires.
Thanks for the reply.
