I have recently bought and moved into a one-bedroomed flat in North London. It is 7 years old.I wanted a service carried out on the gas CH,but was told by the fitter who called that he was unable to do this as there was corrision and limescale build-up around the base of the Boilermate 2 hot water storage tank. Can I buy a new Boilermate 2? and if so how much?If this is not possible what other options are open to me?There is a Baxi boiler on the wall in the kitchen. The water pressure was found to be 7 litres per minute.Thanks.

boilermate 2000 is a similar unit.dont know price, but they work very well as did original boiler mate 2.

for a small flat i would consider putting in a combi boiler in place of baxi boiler and make cylinder cupboard in to store area, etc.

The only major drawback with any practical heatstore (eg. Boilermate) is that the store temperature has to be too high for it to be driven by a condensing boiler. So (given upcoming new regs) it's a short term option.
