Replacing a two way switch.

Hi there.

I have a new switch to replace my old two way switch in my hallway.

I thought it would be a simple like-for-like replacement, but when I took the old one from the wall, all was not as simple as I had hoped.

Using the image below, can someone tell me what goes where??

On the left of your old switch where you have ACOM, A1 and A2 these wires go in the left of your new switch marked COM, 1WAY and 2WAY respectively.

Then the same applies for the right hand side of the switches.

A1 = 1 WAY
A2 = 2 WAY

ok, why did they do that in the 70's?, because of the copper shortage?

They used to coat the copper back then and it looked silver, think it was cheaper to make it.
