 I have taken off old light fitting and ceiling rose to replace with a flat ceiling light fitting. The trouble is i`ve got two flex cables coming out of the ceiling {2x reds 2 x black and 2x earths that have been banded together. the supply is a pull chord on off switch. The new light has 4x push in connections at the base of the bulb unit with a separate screw for the earth.Do I use both sets of wires or no?
Thanks

it depends realy on how who ever put it in wired it.

I should say connect the two reds together (in their own choc bloc) and conect the light across the two blacks.

both earth wires should be covered in green/yellow sleaving and connected to the earth terminal on your light
