Replacing BC3 lamp holder

I have a room with a BC3 pendant light. I want to swap it so I'm able to use Philips Hue bulbs. Are there any issue with just replacing the lamp holder with one of these without replacing the whole pendant? And I couldn't find an equivalent for screw-fit light bulbs, but would that be the same too?

Absolutely fine.

Those BC3 efforts only existed for a short time in a failed attempt to force people to install certain energy saving lamps.

You can get pendant lampholders for ES bulbs, for example https://www.lampspares.co.uk/es-e27-edison-screw-white-half-threaded-lampholder-for-ceiling-lights/ but they use a larger size of shade ring, which means many UK lampshades won't fit (newer shades are often designed to fit both sizes).
