Replacing Ceiling Light ) Less Terminals

Hi, I'm replacing a couple of ceiling lights. The existing one's are the standard white modern ceiling roses, the new one's are more of a stylish dome shaped silver thingy. There are 3 sets of cables running to the lights which I can understand as they run to/from other lights. But these are connected to terminals on the old roses that the new lights don't have. Do I simply use a connector strip (choc block) to accomodate these, and connect them the same way as previous. Thanks.
