Hi,
I would like some advice from you helpful lot about how best to replace the upstairs chipboard flooring in our house.

The dilemma I have is; after lifting the carpet in one of the bedrooms it looks like the chipboard T&G sheets run under the internal stud walls? There doesn't seem to be any gaps in the flooring between the doorways and I can't figure out how best to lay replacement boards

Can anyone help please?

Thanks in advance.

Are you replacing them with proper floorboards?

Are the stud walls on top of a joist or running perpendicular to the joists?

If the walls are built above a void (ie between joist), I guess you'd have to leave the chipboard that's holding it up.... Or you could maybe introduce some new supports, or even new joists, to enable you to fix your new boards down.

I think a photo or two would help.

You don't say why you want to replace the chipboard!, what are younoutting on top of it
