I want to replace dimmer switch with normal one way switch so can use low energy light bulb.

The dimmer switch has a black wire going into C (Common?) and red wire going into L1 both at top of box.

The new switch is set up differently. It has a hole marked common and another two at the bottom saying 1 Way and 2 Way (without a screw).

As I'm writing this it is becoming more obvious but just need to check that the black wire should be attached to the hole marked Common and the red wire to the one marked 1 Way.

There is also an earth wire attached to metal box.

Sorry if this is really simple/stupid question!

You've got it black to common (C) on new switch & red to terminal marked 1, the earth is connected to the back box & should be covered by a yellow/green sleeving.
By the way the black cable should have a bit of red sleeving or tape on it to denote that it is a live cable.

Cheers - all done (had to wait for washing to finish before turning electric off first!)
