Hiya

Due to the cold and the shocking way the plumbing is in my flat, the pipe between the dishwasher and the down pipe from the sink burst, big time.

Now I know I can replace this by going to B&Q etc and buying a replacement tube, with bungs (as best as i can describe them) on the end. The only problem is the current pipe does not fit in the bung. We've tried boiling water to soften the bung, but it hasn't done anything.

My question is, do I have to fully remove the old pipe from the dishwasher and if so does anybody know how?

Your help would be amazing, as my boyfriend is currently using parcel tape. I know stupid :D

Do you mean the grey pipe that goes from the base of the dishwasher. If so make and model no. Also if it goes into a stand pipe behind the dishwasher it just slots in about 2/3. Inches.

Hiya thank you for replying

The model of the dishwasher is a hotpoint DWF30
The pipe is the grey pipe directly connected to the back of the dishwasher. The pipe goes into the U bend from the sink which is next to the dishwasher but in a cupboard. So the dishwasher pipe goes through the base of the cupboard and then onto the U bend. So from my very crude diagram, the 1's represent the sink u bend, and the \ and / represent the two pipes one from the washing machine and the other from the dishwasher.

We managed to get the plate off the back of the dishwasher, however it looks as though it goes right inside the machine. is there a device that slots inside the two parts of broken tube, as we can cut it ti straighten it, so that they can connect, as there is plenty of excess pipe?

Thank you for your help
much appreciated

take the left hand side panel off and the pipe goes on the matrix
