We have a triton opal 3 electric shower

Unsure what kw it is as there are various versions, is there anyway i can find out?

The wiring is it 6mm or 10mm? I think its 6mm?

The fuseboard is 5 metres away from the shower which has a 40amp mcb

What is the max kw shower we can upgrade to with the existing wiring?

Not 10mm².
Smaller than the internal cables. Hard to tell whether 6mm² or 4mm².

Should be 6mm² then.

9.5kW with 40A MCB.
10.5kW with 45A or 50A MCB .

9.5kW with 40A MCB.
10.5kW with 45A or 50A MCB .

So if its 6mm wiring i have the following options?
9.5kW with 40A MCB.
10.5kW with 45A or 50A MCB

Can't find any in stock.

Search for MK B45 5945s MCB or MK B50 5950s MCB.

Not sure which others will fit. Someone else will know.

Can i double check that 10.5kW with 45A or 50A MCB with 6mm cable will be safe?

If you've used for long periods of time regularly with a family?

8.7-9.5kW depending on the exact voltage in your house.

How is the cable run all the way from the fuse box to the shower?
Is it clipped on the wall surface, plastered into the wall, in trunking, does it at any point pass through any loft insulation or other insulating material?

Unfortunately i do not know how it has been run, the shower is approx 5m from the fuseboard

I thought it would be a specific kw rather than a range!

Can i still upgrade to 10.5kw with the existing wiring? And just upgrade the mcb to 45a or 50a
