Replacing Garage Side Door with uPvc, no lintle

Hi all, I have just got a quote for a new side door in my garage, however I noticed that there is no lintel. It is a brick built double garage with a flat roof - will the bricks fall in when the wooden door frame is removed if nothing is done?

It wasn't something that the door fitter mentioned, but it occurred to me afterwards.

Should I suggest/insist on any additional work being done for this?

It's not the side door to the house is it? If so you would most probably need a lintel, otherwise if its a side door leading to the garden and it's only a flat roof above then you probably don't need one. How many courses of bricks are above the existing door, have you got a picture?
