I'm going to replace my gutters, soffits and facias.

I've checked under my roof tiles and the bottom row of felt has rotted just behind the facia.

I had planned to install gutter trays/eves protectors underneat the felt. Will this be ok? Will the felt continue to rot? Or must I replace the bottom row of felt?

Just go ahead as you have planned - no need to replace felt, cut off any bits dangling in the gutters. The plastic goes under the felt, of course.

I think that its the UVA in sunlight that does most damage to the felt, its not as tho a fungus (like in rotting wood) is eating away the felt strip.
