Hi, hope somebody can help me! im looking to replace 4 spotlights in the kitchen. I bought some new ones thinking they would be easy to replace however im not sure it is now. I removed the fitting from 1 light to find it was attached to what looked like a mini fuse box or relay about 4"x2". Each light has one and if i do a straight swap of the fittings the light will not work. do i need to remove the box as the new light will have all the wiring it needs or am i missing something? the old light is about 4 years old. Thanks Oxford

That little box is probably a 12volt transformer.

Your old lamps are probably 12volt, look at the lamp, its written on the side.

Look at the box in the ceiling, it will be written something like:
PRI: 230vac
SEC 11.6v 60VA

Are the new lights 12volt or are they 230volt?
