My 50 year old toilets flush valve has given up. So, I want to replace it. I was looking at a Fluidmaster Pro Lever Dual Flush Valve PRO750UK.

My toilet cistern is 13" tall with the lid off, and the flush valve hole in the bottom of the cistern is 2". The height to the bottom of the level is 11". My existing but failing flush valve is 12" tall.

I'd like to carry on using my porcelain toilet handle, but the Fluidmaster Pro comes with a cheapo plastic one. Is it possible to have my existing toilet handle work with that Fluidmaster cable type? I have attached photos of my toilet and existing handle.

I'm basically apprehensive about buying the wrong bit of kit!
