Replacing my front door

Hi, my front door is old and damaged. My existing front door can be lifted off the hinges, (they did this when delivering my new sofa) does this mean i can just buy a new door and drop it onto the frame, or do i have to buy a new frame and have it all fitted by a pro.

Are you talking about a timber door on rise & fall hinges or a uPVC door ?

Best bet would be to call a recommended local manufacturer and have a chat with them. It should be a simple enough job for them to just supply you with the door to fit the existing frame.
