Replacing old Boiler costs.

for a combi and removal cylinder and feeder tanks and rearranged piping, with the known names around £3500 all in fixed prices. With some clarification if Cylinder/feed tanks are taken away.

You don't have to have a combi. You can have a heat only boiler (both types are condensing ;)) then the removal of the cylinder, and its feeder tank with the associated pipe modifications won't be necessary. The same goes for the control wiring, that can stay, perhaps with a new upgraded controller to replace the existing. That would cut down the installation cost; assuming that the existing items are serviceable.

Yes I've engaged a very local boiler man and he came to do a survey and quotes yesterday and will be fitting this pipe internally.

In my opinion a local plumber / heating engineer is the best route to choose

Try your local facebook groups and see what the comments are + ask around for recommendations. If there are any extensions or major buiding works going on in your street or nearby -pop in ask the builder running the job for a contact. Builders tend to use the same tradesmen on every job -guys the knew know and trust (and usually they are tradesmen that dont advertise)

avoid internet tradesmen sites like the plague -I cant stress that enough

bear in mind to do a job properly, especially with a full power flush etc, takes time. Therefore you might find the best job may not be the cheapest quote

Please let us know his appraisal and price. It helps others see what outcomes there are to these kinds of posts.
I think both he and internet quotes are in the same area of the £3500 I have been talking about and it's which boiler chosen putting it up or down.
He as seen what he will have to tackle, he was very pleasant and chatted with me and we covered the points you have kindly given me views on. He came same day as contacted and will start mid week next week and take 3 days, he works alone, I guess the internet people have 2 people and possibly got for quickest options Eg the outside pipe we chatted about. Every review I find on him give 5 stars. He is cheaper I would say than the other quotes and included for two zones as I have now using new valves and supply the extra control. He has given me what money to subtract if I go for no zones which makes him more attractive. The internet non asked me about zones, first they would have known is after I payed in full and I then sent photo's of existing system. Guess then the fixed price would soon be unfixed ;) Thanks all.
PS I'm going for 2 zones.

So, are you going conversion to combi or heat only replacement?

A combi which heats water and heating in 2 zones, internal condensing pipe and hot storage cylinder and 2 tanks taken away. Using excising pipes and radiators. New zone valves and controls, gas feed pipe increased to 22mm.
Think that about sums it up.

And which make and model combi?

Navien 300 28kw
Can't remember the names of the valves and controls.
All his quotes were makes/models in the 28 to 32 area. Internet quotes were in the lower 25 kw band.
