Trying to work out what size rads I need to order to replace the old rads in my property.

When the catalogue states a panel size of 1200mm long where is that measurement taken from? Is it from the faces of the rad valve mounting bosses?

I don't really want to alter the current pipe drops from the old rads which go through the floor.

its not complicated in any way just measure the physical length of the radiator, forget about valves and stuff, if old radiators are a weird size you can buy adaptors to take up the difference without moving the pipe positions in most cases , doesnt work for every rad but will work for the majority.

you can get them from lots of places this link is just to give you an idea of what is available

Don't forget new radiators are unlikely to have their pipe centres the same distance from the wall as the old radiators, so you may have to make minor adjustment anyway.

I asked because there is one new type rad (top and end covers) in the house and it measures 640mm across the top of the panel casing and nowhere have I found a rad manufacturer who makes a 640mm wide panel.

Thanks for the link to the extension pieces they could be useful.
