replacing section of guttering

A mates asked me to replace a section of there guttering thats leaking, so just wondering if its just a case of cutting the section out, getting some more guttering of the same kind, cutting it to size an snapping it back in place? or is there more to it than that? ;)

You don't cut anything out.

You replace the whole section - undo it at the joints.

Incidentally, getter sections don't tend to leak. It leaks at the joints, so you normally replace or remake these
 
agree with woodster, it is more likely that the rubbers within a union or outlet fitting have failed.

these rubber seals tend to compress or flatten over time and lose their efficiency.

this is provided the guttering is plastic of course. :eek: :LOL:
