Hi,

I need to replace the soft close seat on my Cruze toilet from Victorian Plumbing, but I can’t identify which new seats will be compatible.
The Cruze one is £40 plus delivery, which seems expensive, especially since I think the quality is poor (lasted less than 5 years).

Can someone help me out?

I’ve seen the Croydex Eyre at Screwfix, but want to be sure that it’ll fit. I don’t have access to the underneath of the toilet.

I’ve attached some photos...

Thanks.

That one from Screwfix should fit as it's top fixing

It's pretty good going that a seat that came with the toilet lasted nearly five years!

At what points do long life become over-engineering, and short ones under-engineering?

Only the one that well designed and well made products which do the job they need to do, and do it reliably, are probably better than products which do a job that nobody knew needed doing until some marketing person told them they did and created an unecessarily complicated product with poor reliability.

Now you just sound like the tagline from the products in the entire JML range

"JML creating solutions to problems you never knew you had or never knew existed for 35 years"
