my hot water tap is not working in my kitchen but i can use the other taps throughout the house. it is a mixer with hot and cold coming out of a single tap. the cold water works fine but the hot doesn't come out at all no matter how much you turn it. I would think i'm going to have to replace the tap unit itself but am unsure how to do this as i have a combi boiler and don't know if i turn the water supply will it cause any any damage to my boiler?

Probably just the tap body has got water where it shouldn't have it
you can turn mains water off won't affect your combi.
Get a tap body replacement.

HI

in most cases you can get away with replacing just the tap gear called tap reviver kit.for this
turn your boiler off.
turn cold water off .
open tap cover ,head, replace gear
