This is a hyperthetical question as I don't want to acutally do it (yet!). If I have a double garage with two single doors and a brick pillar between them, is it possible to remove that pillar and replace the two single doors with a large one? The garage has a pictched roof.

To save you time, before the experts come along, what is the pier holding up? I suspect it holds a separate lintel over each door, but even it is one long one, much will depend on the loads involved.

Basically the answer is yes, but likely you'll need a new steel or concrete lintel above the opening.
