replacing vertically mounted bath taps on cast iron bath

I've never drilled cast iron and wouldn't like to attempt it, the enamel wouldn't like it either methinks

I've thought about moving the bath out from the wall so I could use a wall mounted option but that causes complications as well.

Thanks everyone for their thoughts, I'm going to carry on pondering for a while, at least I can see a option that is supposed to work now
