Been thinking about diy’ing my staircase replacement.

It’s a standard straight set Victorian staircase and would be exactly like for like so as to match the out of the loft stairs, but before I bit the bullet was just wondering if anyone had attempted themselves?

If so, what things to look out for, how best to measure and prep, but I suppose most importantly would you recommend taking it on?

I built a staircase for my loft conversion - it wasn't particularly difficult to build it (cheap DIY router and a jigsaw) but measuring could be tricky (wasn't that bad for me as being a new staircase I was able literally put one of the strings in position and mark where everything needed to go) - I think you can get software packages to design them now.
