Replancing Aube Thermostats with Smart ones?

I have around 4x Aube thermostats (formerly thermonet 132-f), of which two are faulty, we think. One fails to click when the temp goes up, and the other goes faint, then loses power.

I've found something of similar size, see here:

Just wondered if these would leave any kind of gaps around the existing backplates?

The thermonets back plate (large than the control ) are:
90x95mm

Since they appear to be smaller dimensions, there’s a chance they may leave a little gap. You could do as above with the switch plate, get a larger thermostat or patch the gaps.
