Repurpose old unvented hot water tank

The boiler is potentially very dangerous as it burns diesel to heat water (i.e. it gets above 100'C). It also has a high flow of water.
There is lots of potential there for starting a fire or serious damage.
The 2kW heater will be run by a 10W 12v pump that cost £14 off Amazon. Worst case (beyond pressurised explosion - what I'm confirming here) is a damaged pump.

As I say, I'm considering options. Drilling a new hole is certainly a possibility although I'd rather not as I've never tried to seal a hot water tank. Ignoring the coil - I did think about a Dremel cutting the pipe off inside the tank and just leaving it (and swarf) in there. There's the cold inlet and hot outlet, there's the secondary flow pipe and pressure relief pipe and the emersion port which I could easily run a couple of 15mm pipes through.
Plenty of options.

Stratification isn't a problem as my main hobby is microcontrollers so I plan on adjusting duty cycle of the pump based on water temperature (i.e. run pump for 10 seconds every minute when the water is hot adjusting to constant running when just warm.
