I need the dry verge re-installed and the ridges replaced/repointing.
( The dry verge has been screwed to the mortar so some of them have started flying off! )
All tiles are intact and the ridges are there but there are missing mortar chunks from it.

This is for a small bungalow.

I have been quoted £1800 for the dry verge and £1080 for replacing the ridges.
They said they cannot repoint the ridges cause they crack when they remove them.
The roof has the old bitumen felting that has only slightly started ripping in a couple of places.

Is it worth re-reroofing it if the cost is up to £5000 although I have not had any quotes for reroofing yet. re-roofing will add the breathable felt that won't get affected with time. All the current tiles are fine and no broken tiles.

I'm now 50, I'm wondering if I change the roof and never have to deal with it until i die as this is fr a rental.
