Resealing a corner shower

Hiya,

Our corner shower has been leaking from either corner of the shower tray where the tray meets the frame. About a year ago, we had the fitter come back and reseal the shower as it had separated along the edge. I think when he redid it, he may not of created a proper seal against the frame and its been leaking slightly ever since (was hard to notice but soaking under lino)

Am I right in thinking that the upright frames should be removed before resealing to ensure a proper seal between the tray/tiles behind the frame? There are no other gaps anywhere near where it is leaking and it wasn't leaking before he resealed it (front panel was off to fix a leaky waste pipe at the same time)

Please excuse the dirtiness, its cleaned regularly but used heavily

If you removed the uprights, you are creating a right headache of a job.
When resealing all the old silicone and any residue should be removed where as practicably reasonable.
The new silicone bead should then be applied a clean and dry surface.

Sorry for dragging up an old thread, but just to add closure... They hadn't sealed behind the frame at all when it was installed, so they had to rip the whole thing out and seal it properly.
