Hi all,

I Have a load of what used to be white pebbles in the area aroundmy decking. They were there when we moved on and have gone black/green now . ive tried pressure washing them and some have come up a bit cleaner, ive tried taking a couple out and soaking them in bleach but that didnt really make any difference...

i could really do without the expense of replacing them all so does any one know of a way of restoring them to their former glory?

Thanks in advance for any advice

try burying them for a few weeks then clean them.

I once had dumped some soil on part of our driveway. a month or so later when I moved it all back to where it had come from and pressre washed the driveway , that part of the driveway was cleaner than I could make any other part. I don't know, may be some kind bugs in the soil ate all the algae type growths that discolours stone type things left out in the sun ? a mystery.

do try and bury some for a few weeks and let me know if it works.

Not sure thats really doable... even if it did work... a lot of pebbles and nowhere to bury them all

Not sure I'd perpetuate the maintenance headache; how about installing something darker (slate chips)?
