Hi....ive dropped a b***ock and didn't post my question. I want to build a retaining wall with poured concrete...Approx 6ft high by approx 15 ft long then turn it down the side if the house, dropping it to 3ft and about 20 ft long. The garden is to be split into 2 tiers and each tier leveled. How deep would the foundations need to be....and how thick? Thanks

A 1.8m high retaining wall will need designing and the work carried out by someone with a wee bit of civil knowledge. You will need decent size earth moving gear as well as a lot of space to store spoil etc. The working area for the 1.8m high wall alone will be staggering, what with battered soil banks etc. Weather will play a huge part too.

Are there any services or drains, that run along the back, that could be exposed once the new ground levels are established?
