Retarder in concrete

Hi guys
I've got an extension on and everything is going through the house as access is poor
I've been advised by the concrete company I can have a retarder put in the concrete so I can move it with plenty of time
I've used it in compo but never concrete has anyone else done this and have you experienced any problems.
