We have recently moved house to a property which has a Baxi gas-fired combi boiler. We had the boiler serviced immediately and asked the engineer to install a timer as the boiler does not appear to have one (we find it very odd that they do not come as standard these days). The engineer said that it is not always possible to fit a timer to a combi boiler; is this correct?

Our previous home had a boiler with no timer and we desperately wish to have a timer installed on this boiler.

The boiler just has a switch for heating & water / water only / off (obviously there are also dials on the boiler itself to regulate the temperature). There is no timer on the boiler and there is no thermostat in the property.

The thermostat which you suggest is exactly what we are looking for. We had the property rewired last week and the electrician is coming back on Thursday so we will discuss this with him.

The 'engineer' whom we employed is CORGI registered.
