Hi all,
I have this rather sorry looking lantern in the porch. The paint is shot and some of the metal is exposed. No visible rust that I have found.
I'd like to take it down and re-paint it in black. Rather than botch the job and then come asking for help I thought I should ask how to get the best results first! I would have removed the glass (seems to be held in by split pins), rubbed the metal down with sandpaper, and painted a couple of coats of Hammerite. Is that an ok approach, or is there a better way?
Thanks for any help!
